USA Made KnKut Hand Taps are made of high speed steel (HSS) as opposed to most other manufacturers who use carbon steel. The difference is noticeable as HSS has added toughness at high hardness coupled with high abrasion resistance. Hand taps are also called chasers as they are used to chase or clean existing threads.
